why can’t people just wait till they’re mature?
even if the owners see the horses as machines you could say it’s ”a waste of money and time”
to buy a horse that breaks down like this on their first race
why don’t they just wait till the horse is fully grown and strong, that way it can win more
but of course i love horses and i would let them mature so they won’t hurt themselves

also people keep in mind these horses are bred to race, it’s in their blood and they love to do it

This is disgusting as hell. I know the place Seattle’s Slew great granddaughter fell on. You bet your sweet ass they’ll get a piece of my mind!!

    PaTHETIC!!!

  3. naturelover222 Says:

I LOVE: how the idiotic riders get thrown miles

I HATE: how they make these beautiful, majestic animals suffer :'(

  4. Equestrian08 Says:

Oh my gosh :'( I’ve never really been fond of the racing industry. Theres a lot of foul play that goes on there. I’m not saying that its the only place of course. There will be bad treatment, injuries, and death due to human neglegence in all disciplines. This broke my heart. I think the worst was seeing the filly who broke her leg. I cannot imagine the pain and fear she endured. However I must also add that I do not support Peta. I support animal welfare 100%, but not animal rights or Peta.

    This is just sickening.

  6. myponyslipper Says:

@barrelracingbabe1233 beating a horse to run to death is NOT love!

  7. myponyslipper Says:

how do you live with your selves. yyou people are just as bad as murderers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  8. BestWishes1234 Says:

@barrelracingbabe1233 definitely not all race horses are treated like kings and queens…yes tripping and accidents can happen but in such a young not fully formed horse it is more likely to happen!

  9. FromWishingDreams Says:

PETA isn’t trying to stop horse racing or say that everyone is like this, they just want change for the safety and well being of the animals.

  10. FromWishingDreams Says:

Accidents in horse racing would dramatically decrease if reforms were made. If they required the horses to be older and fully developed, this wouldn’t be happening as often. No doubt, accidents with horses or in any sport will happen, but it’s cruel to make babies to this

  11. FromWishingDreams Says:

Whatever the case, and however this is justified, the amount of breakdowns on the track alone proves serious reform is needed. It should be simple enough to conclude if the horses aren’t fully developed and cannot physically handle these speeds, then they shouldn’t be running this early.

  12. CheyZenaxx Says:

Omg and at 2:02 the horses leg totally snapped in half 🙁

  13. MaddyTEquestrian Says:

@barrelracingbabe1233 Some of them may be treated like ‘kings and queens’ but most of the time they are run into the ground, honestly how can you say something like that after seeing a video like this ? Yes the trainers are sometimes very caring, but the racing industry is all about money and not at all about the animals best interests.

  14. dustyschnauzer Says:

omg, the great grandfather/grandmother of seattle slew is just sick, why would you do this to such beautiful creatures? why? WHY?

  15. PrettiPepi Says:

@barrelracingbabe1233 they might be well cared for but that doesnt mean that the actuall racing isnt really bad for them. And they might be well cared for at first but when its found out that it isnt a good racehourse its sent for slaughter or shot.
If they arent killed then lots of them are physcologically (sorry if thats spelled wrong) ruined from their racing days

  16. DeDoodIsHier13 Says:

when the horse breakes his leg i started to cry because it so havy to see that 🙁

  17. FrazzleAndTheWolf Says:

    @Peachycanyon This isn’t PETA.

  18. TheRubyRose13 Says:

I actually feel sick after watching that..

  19. pittielove Says:

ugh. and the has to run on her broken leg :'( people are so disgusting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THIS IS NOT OKAY!

  20. tillynbella Says:

    :( Horrible.

  21. pittielove Says:

Horses shouldn’t even be backed until they are 3 years old! Let alone way over worked, it’s bad for their muscle and bone development! That alone disproves everyone that’s saying “race horses are treated better than other animals” – if they had owners/trainers that CARED, they wouldn’t be backed so early, or ridden to the point of BREAKDOWN.

  22. pittielove Says:

@Peachycanyon Injecting the horses’ legs with drugs so they cannot feel pain so the owners can continue to race them when the horse is unsound is not my idea of an animal being well looked after. The big time winners are treated great, yes, because they bring in the cash. The ones who don’t do so well – let’s just say that’s not a life I would ever wish on one of my horses.
