Mohammad Amir (Urdu: محمد عامر, born 13 April 1992), also known as Mohammad Aamer, is a Pakistani international cricketer, whose suspension and subsequent five year ban curtailed his promising career. He is a left arm fast bowler, who opened the bowling in all formats of the game. He made his first-class debut in 2007, and his first One-Day International and Test appearance in 2009 in Sri Lanka, at the age of 17. However, he played his first international match during the 2009 ICC World Twenty20, where he played in every game, helping the national side win the tournament.,[1][2] Amir was touted as having the potential to be a leading fast bowler by former Pakistani left arm fast bowler Wasim Akram[3] who picked him out as a prospect in 2007.[2] Since Amir’s establishment in the international arena, former Pakistani batsman Rameez Raja, as well as Akram himself, have stated that “He is much cleverer than [Akram] at 18”.[3] On August 29, 2010, he was implicated in allegations of spot-fixing and is currently serving a five-year ban for allegedly bowling two-deliberate no-balls, Amir however has announced that he plans to appeal the verdict handed out by his prosecutor the International Cricket Council.[4] Test five-wicket hauls Figures Match Against City/Country Venue Year No. 1 5/79 7 Australia Melbourne, Australia Melbourne Cricket Ground 2009 Test 1943 2 5/52 13 England London, England The Oval 2010 Test 1970 3 6/84 14 England London, England Lord’s Cricket Ground 2010 …

@maxfm83 Actually it was proven. Salim Malik was banned for life along with a few others. In fact, the judge, Justice Malik Qayyum, in his report said, and later in an interview, that he didn’t ban Akram cause he was a favorite and a national hero. The unfortunate thing was then that that trial was in Pakistan and not in the west so people were spared and the cases were never investigated but the evidence was all there 🙂

@syadkaalsh Akram may or may not have fixed.. but nothing was proved so innocent until proven guilty.

@maxfm83 He is the next Wasim Akram. Wasim Akram sold his country and so did this kid! I say he is better then him as he did it in his first year. Akram had to wait till Imran retired!

@idress2one Actually he is a heir of Akram. He achieved every thing much quicker. Fame and the talent of fixing. Both of which Akram had to work hard at 🙂 The curse of Akram upon this nation is the reason why this boy is where he is today!

My cousin is a Sports Agent affiliated to an international firm representing loads of big names. He’s spent the last 3yrs lobbying US congress & UK parliament to legally protect sports stars who accept bribes to throw matches/races.
He says it’s a fundamental ‘economic human right’ in a free market to accept ‘performance payments’ without penalty from the relevant sporting body. When I ask him about the fans he just laughs & calls them “stupid cattle to be milked, fucked & slaughtered”.

@KushanNara It’s really sad for anyone who loves cricket – he could’ve been the next wasim Akram- apparently the ICC offered him a deal at the start if he cooperated and helped uncover everything he’d not be banned – but he refused.

The most suspicious thing about this game was the fact that Pakistan could catch.
