    Wanted to update an earlier comment about the chords:

    A13 / / A7#5 – D9 / / / – A13 / / Bb13(slide up to) – A13 / A7#5 /
    D9 / / / – G13 / / / – A13 / / Ab13 – G13 / F#13b9 /
    B-9 / / / – Bb13 / / / – A13 / C13 / – B13#5b9 / Bb13 / – A13

    There are also accents on certain chords to give the vamp greater harmonic dynamics however it’s hard to document this here. I’d like to thank George Fortunato for transcribing these chords.

    @loopdawgg Yeah, that’s the secret to excellent note choice and impeccable phrasing… a ’61 Strat. Go back to the woodshed and quite whining.

  3. dumbletone Says:

    Check out the “Tony Martin Group” on Youtube if you love great feeling and tone, he is awesome 😉

  4. s1914 Says:

    Sounds remarkably similar to one of the examples from the Danny Gatton Hot Licks DVD !

  5. Bernz67 Says:

    @loopdawgg No, it doesn’t.

  6. loopdawgg Says:

    @DrJeffers
    that is good info, very insightful, thanks!

  7. DrJeffers Says:

    @loopdawgg I seriously doubt it! It helps him, it wouldn’t help us one jot – its small tolerances in tone/response versus a mighty big talent gap… the cliche is true – guys like this usually play top-flight gear, because they are good enough to squeeze every last drop of juice out of their tools, and at that level, every % matters. But its the converse just isn’t true – great gear doesn’t buy you great playing. Without the latter, the former counts for nothing. Its just not the secret weapon.

  8. DrJeffers Says:

    @mikaltch Nope, not really. I got one, and a lot of other stuff too. It doesn’t make me play/sound anything like this guy can (that’s ok, i’m not trying to. But i absolutely couldn’t come close if i ever did). Gear is not the secret… but you know that really. 😉

  9. DrJeffers Says:

    @stratking69er This is so far off the mark i just feel bad for you dude.

  10. tafxkz Says:

    @guillll

    thanks

  11. stratking69er Says:

    @loopdawgg
    it also helps if daddy is very rich and takes you on trips to new york to buy you guitars !

  12. stratking69er Says:

    great amp !

  16. knackersacker Says:

    @FenderHotRod93 Hey – it’s from the Guitarist Magazine DVD Vol2…. never paid much attention to it until I heard What I Wanna Hear…. blew me away – exactly the kind of playing I love – didn’t know ’till I’d heard it tho’

  17. Gibsonstandard67 Says:

    Yeah it’s cool stuff! It’s a lot of tritone sub stuff. It’s so much more fun than just a I IV V. So many possibilities!

  18. FenderHotRod93 Says:

    Hi,
    Do someone know from wich dvd this is?

  19. mikaltch Says:

    @ loopdawgg
    and it probably helps to have a two rock custom reverb too hey…

  20. JOHNNYG99X Says:

    suggest you check out Riveria Paradise, not real jazz but just as “jazzy” as anything you have here

  21. Stringprodigy Says:

    @Henrync35, you obviously haven’t heard SRV’s RIviera Paradise.

  22. loopdawgg Says:

    it helps to have a flippin 61 strat!

  23. cocaneo Says:

    same ive got all his albums and have seen 5 different of his concerts andi have the same strat as him, he’s just amazing!

  24. Henrync35 Says:

    I saw Matt & Ian Siegul last night in Nottingham, left me awe inspired by such genius. Defo top 10blues guitarist of all time but with Jazz element to define his style – up there with Stevie Ray & Jimi but neither of those guys could master the Jazz that Matt can do so effortlessly as featured in this video
