@nayantara25889 U r right….Roopa Ganguly did a phenomenal work as Draupadi…..The one in Ekta Kapoor’s Mahabharat cannot even be compared to Roopa ji…….Not even 0.00001% of what Roopa Ganguly portrayed. The one is Sri Krishna was nice too…But whatever one says, Roopa ji takes the cake.

@r8rdarklord You are absolutely right. Even a prostitute deserves respect. In Shiv Puran, Lord Shiva grants enlightment to a prostitute. He finds her heart more pure than most chaste married women of that time.

@samiz22 Agreed on Draupadi’s arrogance, but there has to be equity in punishment. Imagine present day world where punishment of insult by a woman is to drag her by her hair & strip her publicly. Also, a prostitute is still a human being & has rights. You may view her as a low life but doesn’t mean that she deserves to be mis-treated. Look at Charlie Sheen – he lives with 2 women, calls them his Goddesses, people crave his life style, shouldn’t he be called a male whore. Why the double standards

@feludaify Karna is bad by association, he is bad in the same way Bhishma, Drona, Kripacharya are bad. These guys are the main reason why Duryodhana feels empowered, they are his support structure. Without them do you think Duryodhana would dare publicly stripping Draupadi.

@ZooniIndian Good point. The story illustrates that if this could happen to a Draupadi imagine the plight of common women during those times. The other point is: embedded within the facade of the society there were deeper rooted evils like slavery and treatment of slaves. It was all Adharma, no wonder the Lord Shri Krishna felt it was time to re-establish Dharma.

man..draupadi is lucky…the lord himself came to protect her chastity…wish we mortal women were also lucky like her…

In episode 43 @23:40 , the Shishupal said it right that Bheeshma was a NAPUNSAK (who could not oppose Cheerharan of Drupadi). What a shame to Bheeshma , he should have BROKE His Pratigya on that day itself that NOT TO SERVE BLIND DHRITRASHTRA. That is why in rest of Mahabharat Krishna insisted to BREAK RULE WHEN SINFULs BECOME WEIGHT ON DHARMA.

@kmg4 If a women has rejected you to marry strip her in an assembly!!! What a ridiculous mentality, On that account such mentality can not be cured needed to be killed by Lord Krishna… Any ways Karn: I do not consider a bad character: definitely a misguided character… But I can not favor him based upon gender.. He (any cultured man) crossed his Maryada line (for draupadi) in dyut krida and he can not face pandavas as brother..

@superstyle007 Dude you are weird? Since when did langauges have religion? Urdu as a Muslim langauge? Thats weird, I’m from Punjab and Urdu has always been a darling of Hindu Punjabis and Sikhs. And English as a christian langauge, thats a joke of the century. English belongs to British, not christians.
February 17th, 2012 at 3:30 pm
@superstyle007 Because Urdu and English are official langauges of India in case you do not know. And yeah you have written your question in one of these languages only.

Only if Sunny deol was alive at that time, he would have thrashed both Parties. Pandavas for staking her and Kaurvas for disrobing her.
February 17th, 2012 at 4:56 pm
Pandavas were not the heroes of Mahabharata. The only real hero of Mahabharata was Krishna, even Karna is given more respect in history than Pandavas. So next to Krishna, I will only name Draupadi and Karna as real heroes. In fact, Draupadi is known to have subconcious yearning for Karna.
