True tournament poker has alot of variance ( which is what alot of people call luck)
Cash game poker is diffrenet

Agree if someone is shaking they are NOT bluffing — its the opposite.
That is because if someone was not comfortable bluffing — they simply wont bluff in the first place…

Bluffing is overrated — at least in cash games.
This is because in low limit cash games –there are plenty of calling stations — idiots that just won’t fold no matter what you do.

*who make a boatload

Total balogny. Maybe that one time you cracked the odds, but the next 20 you would lose. Over the long run luck only has a small fraction to do with your success which is why there are professionals you make boat loads consistently.

Poker has basic principles that you can practice and get good at, but it’s 90% luck. My first tournament game of poker I folded and showed my hand heads up, and didn’t realize I had a straight. Everyone laughed. I then won the tournament and 10k bucks. I literally know nothing about poker.

Lmao, I know right! When I have a strong hand! I try to seem very doubtful! I sigh . . . and look away! When I’m telling a tell, I seem very confident! Other ppl are the opposite thought, It’s a matter of knowing your opponent!

I hate when people say that Moneymaker put a good poker face on when he bluffed Farha. Cmon now, who is going to call off all their chips with middle pair when your heads up for the main event title. There’s no way Sammy can call with that, no matter what he thinks Moneymaker has. He just bluffed and it happen to be at the right time and that’s all the credit I give to Chris. It wasn’t his “poker face”.

Amateurs shake when they raise 10 bucks with pocket aces, Dwan shakes when bluffing Ivey for a 600k pot.

when players bluff they tend trying to look “strong” and “firm” not shaking… thats when “noobs” have a monster hand like AA
April 4th, 2012 at 3:52 am
Its always going to vary, but in most cases the shake is from a bluff.
April 4th, 2012 at 4:49 am
THE MORE money you have the more tournaments you can join the more cash games you can join the more bluffing power you have because everyone else is playing scared money while you have more “BLUFFING POWER”
