Maver – Stone Temple Pilots

Author : Betting on Profit

Lyrics: Maver with her lucky bonnet She used to paint her flowers on it She keeps her memories on a turnstile ‘Cause she’s superstitious She thought she’d be famous And tell me if I’m wrong But her picture should distract some playmen Yeah maybe you’ll be lucky enough To hear her sing on Sunday Oh Maver Maver and her bonnet Strings the flag upon it Betting on the bonnet Supposed to get easier She’s playing on the easy piece for her Oh Maver She was a true blue bird, a traveler She left her home post for the West Coast With a guitar and a bar of soap for ‘ole San Francisco And a foolhearted head hole Well she landed in a flat with some fellas that were lucky to meet her ‘Cause she can play the six-string better than This much you can bet her Oh, So Maver Maver and her bonnet Strings the flag upon it Betting on the bonnet Supposed to get easier She’s playing on the easy piece for her How many nights did you make it without it? How many lines on your face can take away your stone? (guitar solo) How many nights did you make it without it? How many lines on your face can take away your stone? Maver and her bonnet Strings the flag upon it Betting on the bonnet Supposed to get easier She’s playing on the easy piece for her She’s playing on the easy piece for her Oh Maver Oh Maver Oh Maver

Great great song. But yes man, you have the lyrics way wrong. Such as:
    Maver and her bonnet
    Streaks of life upon it
    Bettin on the ponies
    So things could get easier
Just praying on a easy peace for her

    Also:
She was a true blue blooded traveler
    She left her….

And a fool hearted head of hope
    She landed in a flat

Cause she could play the six string
    Better than those macho pendejos

Just thought all should know. 😉

@stpunderground I couldn’t agree more… New album in 2012. Think this album summarized my summer 2010.

One of my fav songs of stp!

  10. JanesInChains1990 Says:

Scott Weiland is so fucking versatile it’s scary. These guys got a bad reputation, but they really are the most underrated band in America.

WEll, my bad. The big 5 of grunge.

    1. Nirvana
    2. Pearl Jam
    3.Soundgarden
    4. Alice in Chains
    5.Stoned Temple Pilots

This is the order of the big 5 by popularity, but I think that ALice in chains, and Stone temple pilots should be the top 2. THeir my top 2 of the 90’s.

  14. noblesiner Says:

WOW this album is undoubtly stp but it doesn’t sound dated. I think thats due in part to the fact that the music hasn’t really evolved much since 96 and also due to the fact that STP sound has always transcended genre and has a timiless element to it. Even though AIC is my fav band of the 90’s, STP sounded like the most progressive of the grundge big 4.

Has an Tiny Music Songs from the Vatican Gift Shop feel to it, with a touch of The Beatles.

I blast this on the highway in the US & Canada. Stone Temple Pilots and The Longhaul.

  18. S1ickJoe Says:

I love the ending of this song. How it fades out…. That guitar solo riff thing makes me cry every time. 4:19

  19. S1ickJoe Says:

@LargelyGay Thank you for introducing me to this band!!!!! Made my night

This song strikes me as sort of a goopy eighties ballad but I love to just jam some off the wall lead guitar along with it. then I don’t feel a little guilty for liking it.
