Chances are you’ve probably heard about the Chrysler Turbine cars of the 1960s, but we’re betting you don’t know anywhere near as much as Jay Leno. The late night talk show host and car nut picked up his own Turbine, and it is featured in the latest installment of Jay Leno’s Garage. The video is nearly 25 minutes long, and after watching it you’ll ascend to Chrysler Turbine expert. We had no idea there were only 55 units ever produced, that it can run on tequila, the bodies were crafted in Italy or that the turbine engine sounds like… well, you’ll have to hear it for yourself. As an added bonus, Jay threw in a 1960s promotional video that illustrates just how the turbine engine works. A terrific history lesson and you can see it here www.youtube.com Thanks To Jay Leno’s Garage www.jaylenosgarage.com http

It’s too bad they destroy such nice cars after they’re finished testing them. Even if the turbine engine itself doesn’t get put into production, the rest of the car should’ve been produced, even if it’s for limited production. I love the shape of the car, I love the shape of the car. An awesome idea that never made mass production.

When Jay said the car companies should be at this point today, he is absolutely correct. There is 0 excuse why a vehicle like is not mass produced.

Think about it it could youse any form of combustible fuel just get a kager of cheap mad dog or verry cheap fouren alcohol that comes in a kager for about $5.00 and fill the tank up and go about 210 miles per tank or eaven moonshine or perfume or eaven lighter fluid or Coleman fuel or any think else that creates fire and drive the butefull future drive

The Chrysler turbine is still the future gas is good but it’s now expensive and pollutes but I really don’t care about pollution its still bad and battery is a good idea on paper but in real life it’s a horrible idea what with a single battery costing 40,000 and charge time and range problems but the turbine idea is the best idea ever
